Dear Editor,

I wrote this letter in order to express my belief that Indonesian students can get involved in helping world hunger. There are many things a student can do, even small things we do can help them. Firstly, I think what world hunger people needs are food. They are suffering because they dont have enough food to eat so we must help provide them with food.
I think what students can do is gather bags of rice or other food and send them to the world hunger people. We have a lot of food at our homes and I think it would be nice if we could use them to help others who need them more. It will be a great help to them because even the smallest grain of rice means a lot to them and I think this is something that we can give them.
Second, we can actually encourage other people to start doing the same thing. Students can draw advertisements, brochures or use other means of advertising such as posters highlighting the importance of donating food to the world hunger people.
Furthermore, we should include the importance of this as we are actually saving more lives. Many people die of hunger every year. Some are so malnourished that we can actually see their bones and here we are, feasting on delicious food everyday, not caring that these people are starving to the brink of death. We should do everything we can to help them. In my opinion, age does not matter. Be it children, teenagers, adults or the elderly. Instead, I think we should all work together to help these victims of world hunger. I'm sure it won't seem to matter to most if we could just spare a few bags of rice for others.
Unbeknownst to us, the cruel act of ignoring the suffering of others is actually a form of mistreatment towards other human beings. Shouldn't we try to help these people? What would we feel if we were in a time of desperate need and there were no one to help us? This is what we should be thinking when we donate food to others. This is why I strongly encourage everyone at all ages, no matter where or who you are, to start helping others. If you have never helped anyone, I suggest you start taking the first step. The first step is always the biggest step and you should know that helping people is a very generous and honorable deed. Donating just one bag of rice could save several lives. That is why I suggest we start donating food to victims of world hunger. So let's start donating now. The more the better!
